When disaster coming to my ZIMBA 4.5.6 on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS

I Just got disaster,
one of two raided hard disk is broken, the fist step is save the
zimbra installation, here the log of my action

1. Install rsync
$sudo apt-get install rsync -y

2. Prepare for the disk, letter for keeping backup file, I'm using SSH
server that has capacity 1T with raid 1 (mirror)

3. Analise the capacity of backup and destination

on Zimbra machine
$sudo du -sh /opt |grep GB

On Destination

$df -h

(see the backup disk, my case is /media/backup)

4. run rsyn

$rsync -avz -e ssh /opt/zimbra/ user@server:/media/backup/zimbra

finally waiting for hours until it finished.

Install torrent Client for Web UI (deluge on ubuntu 8.0.4-4 LTS)

Distro we're using Ubuntu 8.0.4.4 LTS
packet Deluge from PPA

step installation
1. Add the repository below
$sudo vim /etc/apt/sources.list

add in the last line
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/deluge-team/ppa/ubuntu hardy main

2. Import the key

$sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 249AD24C

3. Running Update

$sudo apt-get update

4. Install the package

$sudo apt-get install deluge -y
$sudo apt-get install deluge-web -y
$sudo apt-get install deluge-webui -y

Reset Password Fortigate 50B setelah gagal Restore backup file

Fortigate 50B,

Berbekal text editor, file backup yang tidak di encrypt akan mudah di
rubah sesuai dengan keinginan kita, tetapi hal ini sangat beresiko,
berikut kejadian gagalnya restore data
1. Backup Fortigate 50B via Web
2. Edit dengan text editor
3. Jangan membuang baris atapu identitas apapun
4. Rubah parameter yang seminim mungkin, misal IP-address, susunan firewall
5. Restore

Jika terjadi masalah maka ip addres tidak akan bisa diakses, tetapi
divice masih nyala, untuk itu lakukan

1. Siapkan kabel console (ada dalam paket pembelian)
2. Hubungkan dengan masing2 port (console dan serial port)
3. Buka Hyperterminal atau Console lain
4. Atur parameter sebagai begai berikut
1. Baud 9600
2. 8Bit
3. None
4. 1
5. None
6. COM1 (serial), pilih sesuai dengan setting komputer
7. ASCII setup "append line feeds to incoming line ends"
5. Persiapkan username dan password sebelum mulai.
7. Username "maintainer"
8. Pass "bcpb + Serial Number" perhatikan huruf kapitalnya. kesempatan
hanya 15 detik setelah keluar menu login.
9. Restart
10. Tunggu Console keluar login
11. Login name
12. Klik kanan pada teriminal ketika password promted, > Paste To Host
13. Enter
14. Kemudian lakukan reset to factory, jika tidak ada VDOM bisa
lakukan dengan "exc factoryreset" jawab Yes
15. Jika ada VDOM masuk ke VDOM dulu, "config Global" + exce....

kelihatan lama banget, error ini muncul di tahun 2007 ketika release 4.5 keluar. saat ini sudah mencapai versi 6, jadi ya error yang sudah kadaluwarsa begitu. Tetapi kejadian saya lain. Saya yang tidak rajin update mail server saya maka akhirnya menemukan error yang sudah begitu kadaluwarsa.

Tiba2 email tidak bisa menerima kiriman baik dari dalam maupun dari luar, pagi-pagi dapat SMS dari Mr Bos, minta email server di check. Nyampe dikator langsung sambar kunci server dan terus bak-big-bug. 30 menit kemudian semua di restart dan mendapatlah error  ini

Terlusuri google tdk menemukan jawaban, karena ini mail server satu-satunya maka saya langsung merah, tidak ada load balancing. apa dikata server email berhenti, dan begitulah.

Karena ada file yang hilang saya kalukan update Ubuntu 6.06 LTS yang bersemayam di server Fujitsu Siemens (saat ini fujitsu saja, karena siemens nya sudah di akuisisi)
kemudian lakukan

$sudo apt-get upgrade

dan betul saja filenya ternyata membutuhkan update dan di timpa dengan file baru. setelah 8 menit upgrade akhirnya zimbra saya reload dan hasilnya OK.

Masalah besar pagi ini beres, dan skrng lagi minum teh sambil nulis Blog ini. smoga bisa menjadi pengalman yang berharga.

Catatan:
- Jangan malas untuk upgrade server, kecuali akan menjadi report

Upgrade Firmware 3COMCRWE757G72

Setelah mengalami masalah dengan konfigurasi karena di firmware dari website

Cari firmware terbaru.
1. Double klik file exe, kemudian akan otomatis meng extrak 2 file PDF manual dan 3CRWE454G72v1_03_12.dlf yang diupload
2. Masuk ke web admin
3. System Tool > Upgrade
4. Chose File
5. Apply
6. Setelah keluar halaman baru lakukan hard reset (lihat artikle sebelumnya

Smoga bisa membantu, dan 3Com lama bisa digunakan kembali, bahkan dengan feature baru seperti WDS, client bridge dan lain-lain.

NMAP and 3Com 3CRWE 454G

I've old 3COM Access Point 3CRWE 454G, it has been long time work for me, at this time this machine run like tired, maybe yes because of has been run for more than 5 years. In current running ip I can't configure using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.10 nor IE 8.0, so I decided doing hard reset.

The procedure how to reset is
1. un plug the power supply
2. Push reset bottom and hold
3. Plug the power while the reset bottom still pressed
4. Hold about 5 second
5. Release the reset bottom
6. Connect the LAN cable (use cross cable)
7. Access the original ip address 192.168.1.250
8. Default password is Admin

The problem is begin, i cannot access this ip address but the signal is detected. here the problem solving.

1. Plug 3Com to the LAN Switch (do not turn it on)
2. Run DHCP server on it, in my case DHCP run on 192.168.3.50-60
3. Turn on the 3COM 3CRWE 454G
4. Run nmap ip or port scanner in my case use this command "nmap -sV -p 80 192.168.3.0/24", I scan for ip on this network those open port 80.
5. Browse using Google-Chrome.
6. Configure as you want.

note IE8 and FF3,6 is not compatible for this 3COM 3CRWE 454G

DNS Public (Nawala) Mati

Jam 14:10 menit internet dengan jalur A mati, kemudian jalus B (VVIP) juga mati, vonis langung pada modem yang kebetulan jalur A+B ketemu. Diagnosa sementara Modem OK, kemudian test lagi. hasil masih sama.

Selanjutnya modem di lakukan hard reset, berujung pada kondisi yang tidak membaik. mulai curiga dengan proxy, walau agak janggal karena A dan B adalah jaringan dan mesin yang berbeda, tapi tak masalah karena "Network need a magic"

Setelah ritual restart proxy A dan B selesai kondisi masih belum berubah, hati menjadi gundah.

Kemudian dilakukan test secara mendalam, Ping dari client ke arah luar. hasilnya semua ping dari A dan B kondisi OK.
kesimpulan

- "semua jaringan dan alat dan server dinyatakan sehat"

Waduh.. ada setan disana, kemudian remote ke proxy A, dan lakukan $ping google.com hasilnya host unknown.

DuuuooooooooOOOooooRRRRRR....rrrr.....

ada yang sama antara A+B yaitu menggunakan DNS nawala. akhirnya menemukan titik terang. DNS nawala mati kedua-duanya

• NS #1: 180.131.144.144
• NS #2: 180.131.145.145

Akhirnya DNS no2 saya arahkan ke DNS telkom, dan hasilnya Jrenggg... Semua OK.

  2.   Setting booting melalui cd
  3.   Masukkan linux live cd apa aja (aq pake ubuntu 10.4)
  4.   Masuk ke drive C:\Windows\System32, cari dan back up terlebih dahulu file-file berikut :
         *   Lsass.exe
         *   Services.exe
         *   Svhost.exe
  5.   Paste file yang telah didownload ke C:\Windows\System32, lakukan satu persatu

Backup MySQL

Some time PHPMyadmin is not enough to restore mysql-backup. you have to many option adn configuration to restore file

- Max upload limit (modify in php.ini)
- Maximum post limit (modify in php.ini)
- Time execution limit
- and so on


This article describe howto restore the bigger file thank common setting permited.

1. Use PHP bigdump

• Download from here http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php
• Extact to your web directory
• Open the bigdump.php, dan modify some setting like database name, user name and password
  
• Browse using Firefox or your favorite browser (ie http://localhost/bigump.php
  
• Upload the file
• Then start to restore

note:
Your dump file probably contains a statement like this: SET character_set_client = @saved_cs_client; Bigdump is not able to restore settings saved at the beginning of the import process. However you can skip this error message by adding a comment setting $comment[]='SET character_set_client = @saved_cs_client;'; to the BigDump configuration.


2. Back up your MySQL Database with Compress

If your mysql database is very big, you might want to compress the output of mysqldump. Just use the mysql backup command below and pipe the output to gzip, then you will get the output as gzip file.

$ mysqldump -u [uname] -p[pass] [dbname] | gzip -9 > [backupfile.sql.gz]

If you want to extract the .gz file, use the command below:

$ gunzip [backupfile.sql.gz]

3. Restoring your MySQL Database

Above we backup the Tutorials database into tut_backup.sql file. To re-create the Tutorials database you should follow two steps:

• Create an appropriately named database on the target machine
• Load the file using the mysql command:

$ mysql -u [uname] -p[pass] [db_to_restore] < [backupfile.sql]

Have a look how you can restore your tut_backup.sql file to the Tutorials database.

$ mysql -u root -p Tutorials < tut_backup.sql

To restore compressed backup files you can do the following:

gunzip < [backupfile.sql.gz] | mysql -u [uname] -p[pass] [dbname]

If you need to restore a database that already exists, you'll need to use mysqlimport command. The syntax for mysqlimport is as follows:

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Firefox selalu start dengan mode Offline

Pengen ngicipin Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, saya paling demen kalo LTS kerena suportnya paling lama dan update bisa diandalkan.
Seminggu sudah waktu abis untuk upgrade program dan database karena imbas Ubuntu LTS ini mulai dari PHP, APACHE OPENERP, semua seba baru apalagi beberapa program saya install dari source code.

Suka-tidak harus suka dengan ngoprek, dan kadang malah menyita waktu. Ok lah kalo begitu sekarang saya mau cerita dengan tips kecil tentang firefox yang selau offline ini. Mungkin ini hal kecil tapi kadang membuat mood kacau apalagi program2 yang saya develope adalah kebanyakan web base. buka firefox langsung ada

"Offline mode

    *   Uncheck "Work Offline" in the File menu, then try again."


bayangkan saya harus mengulang 10 tabulasi lagi bener2 bikin "bete"

Ok sakaran pada solusi

1. Buka alamat berikut "about:config" di addess firfox (mozilla) selanjutnya
   
2. klik persetujuan
3. Ketik "browser.offline-apps.notify" pada form filter
4. Kemudian rubah nilai dengan "FALSE" caranya dengan diuble klik

Upgrade database alumni STMA-SMTI

Berhubung keperluan pendataan makin banyak maka dilakukan perubahan sbb:

1. Dilakukan backup secara berkala pada 2 masin sekaligus (1 kali perhari) arsip harian, mingguan, bulanan dan tahunan
2. Registrasi melibatkan no kontak (telp)
   
3. Upgrade dilakukan pada mesin server terbaru (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) dangan APACHE Server version: Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) Server built: Apr 13 2010 19:28:27 dan PHP versi PHP 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.2 with Suhosin-Patch (cgi-fcgi) (built: May 13 2010 20:00:36) MySQL Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.41, for debian-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 6.1
4. Upgrade CI (php codeigniter) versi 1.72
   

Langkah adalah

1. Install LAMP (mesin ujicoba)

$sudo tasksel install lamp-server

lalu aktifkan rew_write_mod

$sudo a2enmod rewrite

2. Ambil database terbaru dari backup harian
3. buat database smti_alumni
4. Restore database kemudian lakukan perubahan database

ALTER TABLE `lr_users` ADD `no_telp` VARCHAR( 200 ) NULL

5. Copy directory "smti"
6. lakukan perubahan pada file controller/member/member.php untuk handle field 'no_telp'
7. lakukan perubahan pada file view/member/register
8. upgrade directory 'system' dengan menggunakan CI (codeigniter) terbaru


tahap selanjutnya

1. merubah 'view'
2. merubah 'edit' profile'

Permasalahan yang ditemui

Message: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated

solusi: replace semua directory system (dalam CI) dengan system dari CI terbaru (versi 1.72)

Install LAMP di Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Setelah ngoprek lama dan tidak dipublikasikan, maka ini article kecil yang saya gunakan untuk triger menulis yang lain yang lebih komplek. Kadangkala lao mau nulis yang besar itu berat banget makanya mulai saja dengan yang mudah. OK langsung tancap

- Ide awal mau install APACHE2, PHP, dan MySQL pada komputer user. beberapa hari lalu ada user yang ngotot mau belajar linux, ok-lah bisa saja install dengan modal 1 keping USB jadul ukuran 1 G. (smoga bisa menulis trik install dari USB)

langkah pertama:
1. Buka console
2. Ketik

sudo tasksel install lamp-server

3. Ikuti petunjuk dan tunggu sampe kelar, selanjutnya migrasi database dan aplikasi

Demikain masalah bisa selesai, Tapi bagaimanapun juga Proxy sudah jalan tetapi masih meniggalkan masalah kerana antivirus tidak bekerja, tatapi paling tidak bisa dijalankan sambil menunggu penyelesaian bug ini
